Golden Blonde

The Rubio Dorado is a 100% Iberian pig native to the Serranía de Ronda that is embedded in the blond strains of the pure Iberian stock. - This breed, less docile and slower growing than other Iberian species, needs 3 years to reach the optimum slaughter weight according to the quality standard, increasing the time required by other breeds. Due to its lower reproduction rate and lower economic yield, despite the quality of its meat, its breeding was progressively abandoned, leading to its near extinction at the end of the 20th century.
