Saving the Rubio Dorado.
Faced with the almost disappeared situation of the Rubio Dorado, the MERAGEM Group (PAI AGR-158) of the University of Cordoba, the C.E.A.G. of the Diputación de Cádiz, the Centro Algaba de Ronda, began to search from farm to farm, through all the villages of the mountains, until they managed to gather the purebred specimens of Rubio Dorado Rondeño. -
From there, a meticulous process of genetic selection and planned reproduction began in order to recover the lineage thanks to the joint efforts of these institutions.
In 2015, faced with difficulties in financing the project, they turned to Dehesa Monteros to help consolidate the recovery of Rubio Dorado, putting them into a production and operating regime that would restore them to the market with the prestige they once enjoyed.

To raise golden blond pigs in a totally organic regime, and markets them as its most exclusive and valued line of products, under the Raza&Oro signature.
The salvation of this variety of the pure Iberian Pig is an achievement of incalculable value as it constitutes a unique genetic and cultural heritage, with the added value of being the last redoubt of Rubio pigs in the entire Iberian Peninsula.
