La Sexta, a national television channel, speaks about the golden blond lineage and our company.

The world's most expensive ham from a breed thought to be extinct

It could be the most expensive ham in the world and more select that exist, 100 € for 50 gr, a delicacy, which is sold mainly in Asia but is produced in these dehesas of the Serranía de Ronda in Malaga, an Iberian ham of great quality and flavor, of a unique breed that until now was thought extinct, the blonde.
Premium, delicatessen, perhaps the most expensive ham in the world is this pure blond or golden Iberian ham, you can pay up to 100 € for 50 gr and is sold for the moment only in Asia, there they go crazy with this delicacy.
- It is a product that stands out above all for its high capacity to retain fat or infiltration of oleic acid, which results in a product of much higher quality and much more flavor because the fat is its transmitter. Pepe Simón explains
The high production costs and the quality of this ham raise its price.
- These pigs take twice as long to breed as the normal pure Iberian or 100% Iberian pigs and have manufacturing costs of three times higher than the normal pigs.
And everything is born here in the Serranía de Ronda, in this pasture, here live peacefully about 200 specimens of a species that was thought to be extinct.
- The ultimate goal is that the breed is officially recognized and thus there may be people who are encouraged to breed them.
It exists and it is here in this pasture of the Serranía de Ronda, it is the blond lineage of the pure Iberian pig. In the meantime, the only breeders of this species demand that the administrations recognize it because it has officially disappeared.
- By not recognizing that they do not exist, no one ventures to breed them.
And they (the golden-blond pigs), oblivious to all this, continue to reproduce and claim their existence.
